Overt body armor is only different compared to covert armor because of the characteristics of the outer cover, or carrier. The panels within the vest are the same for all of the different covers that we offer.

Overt covers are made from hard, long lasting, durable materials such as Cordura™. This helps protect against wear, tear, rips and cuts and provides the user with a long lasting and high quality product.

It is vital to know how you plan on wearing your armor, as overt covers are generally not as breathable and supple as their covert counterparts. They also do not fit well under clothes. Please see our covert armor section for covert, discreet options.

Our body armor has been tested and certified to a specific NIJ Level. Depending on the protection level required, each panel is given a level ranging from II to IIIa for soft armor. Beware of vests that have not been certified to NIJ Levels, and also of armor that has been constructed using cheaper or counterfeit materials.

When purchasing Kevlar® body armor, you should always buy from a reputable supplier.

Each of the carriers that we offer on our site have been tried and tested by frontline operatives, such as police officers,security personal, bailiffs, door supervisors and more. Our Kevlar® body armor is fully refurbished to the highest standard, and as we only use DuPont Kevlar®, our products have plenty of life left in them. All our armor is top quality, at a massive discount compared to the RRP, and our competitors prices.

DuPont (who make Kevlar®) claim that Kevlar® in soft armor has a lifespan that is "practically unlimited." They state that "Ballistic decay without use is unlikely assuming the Kevlar has not been mistreated during storage."

Kevlar® Panel Care

Kevlar® only degrades by being subject to extreme temperatures and direct UV sunlight; our vests are only ever stored in inoffensive conditions.

Our vest panels are sent to us after a maximum of 5 years after manufacture, and some only saw service for a fraction of this time. However, these panels use the same materials as panels given 15 year warranties, so we are sure that these panels will service their careful new owners for many further years.

All panels are thoroughly assessed, and any signs of damage will result in the panel being fixed or discarded by our armor expert. If the Kevlar cannot be repaired to the standards set by the NIJ, the panels are not sold.
