Overt body armor only differs from covert armor because of its cover. The panels are the same used in each type of body armor. Overt covers are made from hard, long lasting, durable materials such as Cordura. This helps protect against wear, tear, rips and cuts and provides the user with a long lasting quality product. It is vital to know how you plan on wearing your Kevlar body armor, as overt covers are generally not as breathable and supple as covert counterparts. Our body armor has been tested and certified to a specific NIJ Level. Depending on the protection level required, each panel is given a level ranging from IIa to IIIa for soft body armor. Beware of vests that haven't been certified to NIJ Levels, and also of body armor that has been constructed using cheaper counterfeit materials in places like China. When purchasing some Kevlar body armor you should always buy from a reputable supplier.

Each piece of body armor that is on our site has been tried and tested by frontline operatives, such as police officers, security personal, bailiffs, door supervisers and more.

Our Kevlar body armor is fully refurbished to the highest standard, and as we only use DuPont Kevlar, our products have plenty of life left in them. All our body armor is top quality, at a massive discount compared to the RRP.

DuPont (who make Kevlar) claim that Kevlar in soft body armor has a lifespan that is  "practically unlimited". They state that "Ballistic decay without use is unlikely assuming it hasn't been mistreated during storage".

Overt Body Armor

Kevlar only degrades by being subject to extreme temperatures and direct UV sunlight, which none of our vests have been. The reason our body armor gets refurbished is because our particular vests have a 5 year warranty. However it's not uncommon for a piece of Kevlar body armor to have a 10 or 15 year warranty, this is typical with a lot of armies and police forces. We also check the Kevlar in our body armor with one of our body armor experts to make sure it is still in new condition.
